Things I’ve Learned in 24 Years

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

  1. Being “cool” is not the most important thing in the world.
  2. Being a kind, helpful person is much more important.
  3. Spend time with your parents. Every little thing they say has some value.
  4. If something takes less than five minutes to do, do it immediately, you will be amazed at how much more organized your life will be.
  5. Organize, organize, organize. I cannot stress how important it is to be organized. Make sure your important documents, finances etc are in order.
  6. It’s never too early to save your money.
  7. Look presentable always. You will much feel better about yourselves if you take 5 minutes to be your best self.
  8. Listen. You can learn something valuable from anyone.
  9. Take care of your health. I know that when you’re 18 you think it’s not important…but fast forward 6 years and you will have wished you started living a healthy lifestyle at 18.
  10. Do things that challenge you. It’s important to challenge yourself in order to learn and to grow. You might just find your “thing” by trying something challenging.
  11. Don’t compare yourself to others. Everyone’s life moves at a different pace. Yeah, your former classmate may be super successful, but that shouldn’t make you feel bad. Work hard and simply focus on your own life.
  12. Lastly, BE POSITIVE. Having a positive outlook is sooooo important. Even when you’ve hit rock bottom, keep trying. You never know when you’re going to catch a break.
